The first images of the cockpit of the PMDG 777 for Microsoft Flight Simulator has surfaced. In a post by PMDG CEO Robert Randazzo, he shared just a few images of the cockpit for the long-awaited 777 in the current simulator.
These new images are just a sneak peek of what is to come from PMDG as they continue to refine the 777 for the simulator. In his post, Robert said, “the 777 has benefited tremendously from the experience we gained with the DC-6 and the 737.” He even went as far as to say that “PMDG and Boeing would argue- probably the finest desktop simulation even inside the enterprise environment.”
In the first image, we get a close-up of the Korrey switches on the overhead panel of the 777, specifically for the fuel jettison area of the panel. The next image gives us a look at a piece of onboard equipment (an ELT) and the level of detail PMDG has managed to achieve with this product. The last two images give a wider view of the cockpit, showcasing details right down to the non-skid strips on the shelves behind the captain’s seat.
PMDG has taken trips to compare their virtual 777 with the real aircraft as of late to see how they match up and refine the details even further. This is just a brief look at the cockpit whilst those refinements are made.
In terms of release, PMDG has started to set a release ‘window’, meaning they have a broad idea of when they want the 777 to release. As with the 737 for MSFS, PMDG intends of giving a bit of warning as to when they will release the 777 for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Robert concluded his post by saying “we have a few busy weeks ahead of us still as we add in more of our planned features for this ship- and we are absolutely certain she will meet even the highest expectations for 777 lovers and 777 interested simmers alike.” Expect to see more previews and even some behind-the-scene looks at recent 777 visits in the future from PMDG.
