SimWorks Studios has taken to Facebook to provide a development update on their highly anticipated Pilatus PC-12. Though the team has had some setbacks, and the timeline has slipped a little bit from what they had initially estimated, work is still ongoing and a lot of progress is being made.
According to the team, the flight handling is nearing completion. While the plane behaves as it should during flight, there are a few quirks still to be worked on. The flight behaviour is being validated by SWS’ team of PC-12 pilots.
The exterior model, shown in some of the new previews shared with the development update, is largely complete as well. Some details still need fixing, such as closing some modelling gaps here and there, adding rivets or other details, such as fire extinguishers.
Interior modelling of the legacy cockpit is also nearing completion, and just minor corrections are needed. The team is aiming to add a high level of detail and immersion to the aircraft, by having the entire cabin animate or be usable. The interior of the plane should be highly customisable as well.
Last but not least, a small update on the avionics for the plane. The custom built EIS is now ready and integrated into the aforementioned legacy cockpit. the custom EADI should be almost finished, and the team will soon be ready to move on to the EHSI. Other avionics packages are also available.
