Over on Facebook the SimWorks Studios team has shared a development update on their much anticipated Pilatus PC-12 and Van’s RV-8.
PC-12
The PC-12 is progressing well, and the news that the team wants to share about this plane is “overall good”. However, the team still has several quirks to address and also wants to implement a few more little extras before they are fully happy with it. Despite this, the exterior model of the plane is done and the aircraft systems are all completed as well. Work on the flight model remains ongoing as the team is dealing with an issue with the flaps due to some limitations imposed by MSFS. The avionics are mostly done and all that’s left is some aesthetic work as well as minor functionality. The interior model is still being worked on, with specifically the textures being a focus item for now. Last but not least, the team shares that the sounds for the 5-bladed version of the aircraft are done, while the 4-bladed variant will only be completed once the team is back from their summer break, on August 25th.

RV-8
The RV-8 is progressing nicely, with the exterior model as well as the glass cockpit variant (G3X) now being finished. The programming of the systems is complete here as well and the team is ready to start testing and checking the flight model. The analogue cockpit variants and the RV-8A exterior are still under development.
As for the other Van’s aircraft available from SimWorks Studios, the RV-10 will hopefully see a patch soon to fix an issue causing a blank PFD. The patch has been in testing for about a week, and if all goes well, this patch will be released to customers after the team has returned from their summer break as well.
