Parallel 42 has surprised the community by releasing ChasePlane Professional for Prepar3D v6.
The new ChasePlane Professional is aimed primarily at commercial customers, thanks to the focus Lockheed Martin has on that market. Whilst Parallel 42 has said they won’t be developing new products for Prepar3D v6, they still want to support commercial simulators customers and training centers.
“[We’re] happy to say that our plans have changed with regards to ChasePlane, thanks to the support of our commercial partners. This has allowed us to offer ChasePlane Professional for both personal and commercial users, making it a win-win for all.”
ChasePlane Professional has completely removed any code that supported older versions of FSX and Prepar3D, making it optimised and efficient for P3Dv6. ChasePlane presets will import without issue. IR support, motion effects, and cinematics are all still supported as before.
Despite being sold under a ‘commercial’ license, ChasePlane Professional works with the following Prepar3D licenses:
- Personal
- Professional
- Professional Plus
For years, Parallel 42 has released ChasePlane updates for free, but the transition to v6 will be a full new purchase for customers. However, there will be free updates throughout the lifecycle of Prepar3D v6, but if there is a v7, it will be a new purchase.
ChasePlane Professional is currently available for $40.00 USD as part of a special 20% discount until the end of July. After that, it will be available only through the Parallel 42 store for $50.00 USD.
Edit: Price update as it was cached on their site when we posted the original story.
