Pack your sleeping bag, load up your aircraft and head to the idyllic and exhilarating Cheat River in West Virginia, the fun new addition to Microsoft Flight Simulator by developer Parallel 42.
Located on a tiny island nestled in the edge of a valley within the Allegheny Mountains, Cheat River is a challenging but spectacular airstrip for pilots to fly into, with all landings made to runway 30, and all departures are done on runway 12. And don’t forget to watch out for campers flying their drones and turkeys traversing across the runway (yes, really!).
But once you’ve completed the approach and nailed the landing, the fun doesn’t stop there. The scenery is designed to be used in conjunction with Parallel 42’s electric UTV, the Juice Goose and Campout Utility. Dedicated UTV trails are featured within the scenery, as are camping areas and fishing sites.
The scenery uses custom terraforming to better resemble the region as it is in reality, a custom 3D library of on-ground assets and a whole host of custom animations, including a zipline activity, tractor hayride and even that darned turkey!
You can purchase Parallel 42’s Cheat River Island at their website for £12.00 (tax included).
