Parallel 42 has announced that their electric UTV, the Juice Goose, will release on October 13th. Whilst Friday 13th may be unlucky for some, those looking to ride around the world of Microsoft Flight Simulator will be feeling pretty lucky.

The new Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) will give you the chance to explore rugged terrains, sandy dunes and remote backcountry trails as a solo driver or with friends. If you need a bit more power, then the Juice Boost will give you a bit more oomph to play with. The ‘Goose comes with 3 different motor variants to cater to your specific driving ability, along with Cruise Control, All-Wheel Drive, and climb assist modes to help you traverse the world. There’s even a dynamic steering option to help with those tight bends and turns.

But why a car in a flight sim? When we spoke to Edson from Parallel 42, he told us. “Microsoft announced Flight Simulator 2024, a new platform that promises to bring us significantly higher fidelity on the ground. With the resounding success of our Campout Utility, Flow & Stripr, it only makes sense for us to continue delivering unique add-ons that fill a void in the flight simulation community. This particular void pertains to the exploration and celebration of our virtual world not only from the skies but also from the ground.”

You can also kit out your UTV with various accessories such as doors, foglights, a LED whip, and even an inflatable Otto ‘CoPilot’. There are also a bunch of liveries that come as part of the package.

A custom-built ‘scene’ also comes with the Juice Goose called Goose Bowl (42GB), which will give you a playground to drive your new car in. Another feature called ‘Explore’ will allow you to warp to 12 of the world’s top UTV spots that have been optimised by Parallel 42.

Parallel 42 first showcased the Juice Goose at FlightSimExpo 2023 to gather feedback from the community. Edson said, “it was the community’s first glimpse of a highly accurate ground vehicle “flight model,” and attendees were blown away. People walked away with huge smiles, marveling at a new and unique experience in Microsoft Flight Simulator.” He continued, “Rock climbing and general off-roading is all fair game now. Many visitors even expressed their reluctance to put down the controller! ‘It’s the beginning of an open world Off-Road Forza’ was one of my favorite quotes.”

If you want to prepare yourself for the Juice Goose, a Spotify playlist has been put together by the team. Otherwise, you can sign up to their newsletter to be the first to hear about when the Juice Goose can be added to your hangar.
