As part of a ‘spooky’ Halloween update, the FlyingIron Simulations team has lifted the lid on several upcoming aircraft under development. The teaser images show the clear contours of the distinctive Hawker Hunter and one of the four engines of a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress.
The Hawker Hunter comes as a surprise, although eagle-eyed users might have spotted the developers flying this aircraft in the sim already earlier this year. It’s the first time the developer has officially announced to be working on a Hawker Hunter, although nothing else is known about the status of this project. It’s likely that this aircraft is still quite a long way from making it to our own simulators, as the team has several other projects currently under development. The developer has requested their community for support with getting access to a real Hawker Hunter to do cockpit photo-shoot sessions.
The other teaser image was of that of a radial engine, and it didn’t take users long to pierce together that this was the iconic Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress that gained its fame during World War 2. The team already shared earlier this year that they would start work on their first four engine WW2 bomber for MSFS during 2023, but had not revealed much else about it. The developer stated that its currently unknown how long this aircraft is from release, but that the FlyingIron Simulations team is small and this is a large project, so it will likely still take considerable time.
