Aerosoft Confirms A330 Delayed Until Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Update: We have been contacted by a PR rep at Aerosoft who has confirmed that the A330 is indeed still coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator [2020]. The initial posts made by the team on social media and their website were not made clear and will be updated accordingly.

We have made an amendment to this article to reflect this new information.

The Aerosoft A330 for Microsoft Flight Simulator has had a turbulent development cycle to say the least. Originally announced as one of the first products for Microsoft Flight Simulator, it was intended on providing simmers with a simulation of the Airbus aircraft.

We saw plenty of development updates over the years, a new project manager, and even a trailer (with a targeted Summer 2023 release). We even managed to get hands-on with it during FlightSimExpo 2023. However, it has been confirmed that the aircraft will now be released “around the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.”

This is a highly surprising development considering outside of some very basic bits of information, not much is known about the upcoming flight simulator. Whilst we know that add-ons developed for the current version of the simulator will most likely work for the new platform, it is unclear if much work will be required of developers to bring it to the platform.

As the team evaluated the status of the project, they came to the conclusion it made most sense to launch alongside the new simulator. Along with taking advantage of the new technology found in the simulator, the team also confirmed that both the CEO and NEO variants of the A330 will be released simultaneously. It’s worth noting that Aerosoft has since clarified that the aircraft will also come to the current simulator as well.

No further information was provided by AerosoftOnce we learn anything new, we will be sure to keep you informed.

If you are looking for your fix of an Airbus A330 on the current sim, LatinVFR is bringing the popular jet to the simulator and Headwind Simulations is also looking to bring a freeware version to the community.
