Aerosoft’s A330 Hub Page is Now Live

Following Mathijs Kok leaving Aerosoft earlier this month, the reigns of the Aerosoft A330 have been handed over to a new project manager. Whilst Aerosoft’s typical method of showcasing new information for an upcoming project is often reserved for the forums, the team decided that a new hub page was in order for their biggest project yet.

The new Aerosoft A330 Hub Page, now live, is full of screenshots, information and a short FAQ that will answer questions from the community. Most of those screenshots we have shared already on our site, so there’s nothing new visually.

However, in the short developer post, we did learn of three major issues that are currently preventing the plane from releasing. The first of which is the lateral tracking of the ILS approach. Under certain circumstances, the plane will touch down next to the runway, rather than actually on it. Another issue is that for certain waypoint types, the autopilot will not intercept and follow the track correctly. Finally, the last issue is that importing a flight plan into the MCDU will result in a noticeable performance impact. What is weird is that entering the route manually will not cause any issues.

These are just three issues highlighted by the development post. The soundscape is still being worked on, along with some usability functions within the cockpit itself. Aerosoft said that the A330 is more of a platform than a singular product, which is likely why the A330NEO will be the next major aircraft after it has been released.

In the FAQ, we did learn that the Aerosoft A330 will be forward-compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (as a free-of-charge update) and that both SimBrief and GSX are compatible with the plane.

The Aerosoft A330 Hub Page will be updated with new information. We’ll keep our eyes peeled on it for anything significant to be updated.
