It has been a long time coming, but the Rotate MD-11 for X-Plane 11 appears to be edging closer to a release. The hotly anticipated “major airliner” for the platform looks to be an impressive representation of the iconic tri-engine jet. You can watch the new teaser trailer above.

The newly released teaser trailer is just over a minute long but gives us plenty to look over in anticipation of its release. rendition of the jet. In the trailer, we saw plenty of shots for the external modelling and texturing, along with a glimpse of the inside of the cargo version of the plane. Furthermore, we saw the cockpit at night, detailed looking displays and special effects from the engines.

It has been a long time coming since the initial announcement of the MD-11 back in 2017. During that time, it was said that the plane would be a “study-level” airliner from the initial release. Whilst a new teaser trailer is exciting, expectations should be tempered considering it was just shy of a year ago that we saw the first WIP video that announced beta testing was just around the corner. It’s also worth mentioning that a release date is still yet to be confirmed.

However, this is a plane we know many are excited about so we’ll be keeping a close eye on progress and share the latest news with you once we hear more.
