Rotate has released a much-anticipated X-Plane 12 compatibility upgrade to their popular MD-80 Pro addon. The MD-80 Pro is a highly accurate simulation of the McDonnell Douglas MD-80 series (specifically the the MD-88 variant) mid-size, medium-range airliner for both X-Plane 11 and now, X-Plane 12. Developed with the advice and counseling from real-world MD-80 pilots, the MD-80 Pro for X-Plane 12 offers a complex and immersive simulation experience with realistic 3D models and textures, advanced systems simulation, and accurate aircraft performance.
Available as a public beta for X-Plane 12, Rotate says that some features of the MD-80 Pro are still undergoing additional testing, but X-Plane 12 users can expect new PBR cockpit textures, upgraded 3D lighting, rain and ice effects, and improved Pratt & Whitney JT8D-219 engine performance.
In addition to the native compatibility with X-Plane 12, several other enhancements and bug-fixes are included with this latest version. The complete changelog includes:

The MD-80 Pro for X-Plane 12 is available from the X-Plane.org store for $59.95 US. Owners of Rotate’s MD-80 Pro for X-Plane 11 can upgrade to the X-Plane 12 version for $24.95 US by using the coupon code included in their original MD-80 Pro order page.
