Parallel 42 is known for its series of immersion packages for Prepar3D and FSX, but has yet to bring a similar product to Microsoft Flight Simulator. That is looking to change soon with a new product from the team.
The post leaves us with a teaser image and “SimFX”, which we assume could be the title of the new product.
We now know that this product will be a general effects tool for aircraft in the simulator, thanks to some comments left by Parallel 42 on the social post. When asked if this would be universal, P42 replied, “while there are certain restrictions…in general…”
When we last saw the product back in October 2023, Parallel 42 said the product would “[offer] UNPARALLELED realism and the ease of use you’ve come to expect from us..” Edit: It has been made clear to us since that SimFX will improve the visuals of 747 contrails, “but not those of an Immersion Pack caliber.”
No release date was shared by Parallel 42, but they said that “it’s in pre-release testing with our team at Area42 for the next few weeks.” We’ll be sure to keep a close eye on it and let you know once we learn more.
