iniBuilds has just shared a huge development update on their upcoming A300-600R for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Alongside the new details on what you can expect from the aircraft, a new trailer for the aircraft has also just been released (above).
The team wanted to share new details about what to expect in terms of the aircraft’s systems. iniBuilds are making it clear that this is a highly detailed plane, with plenty to explore when using it. This includes a detailed custom FMS, with full SID, STAR, SEC flight plan and a custom VNAV and LNAV system that will follow altitude and speed constraints. There is a bespoke hydraulic, electrical, pressurisation and fuel operation, along with an extensive flight model that includes accurate performance in flight, and during take-off and landing.
There is a fully 3D model and exterior of the A300-600 passenger and freighter variants, that come with optimised PBR textures. There are 8K resolution quality textures, or an optional performance texture pack for those with lower-end systems. There are numerous elements included, such as maintenance options, brake wear indicators, fueling panel, openable APU cowling, visible tire wear and accurate door arming simulation. Emergency slides will also deploy on the passenger variant.
iniBuilds has also included a full suite of Wwise sounds using recordings from the real aircraft, as well as advanced implementation of sound environments for the exterior, cabin and cockpit. Other features include pre-set cargo loads with visual models (think racing team charters, horse stables, aero parts and postal freight), and also Fally Blocks. There is also an onboard EFB that will give you the ability to integrate Navigraph, SimBrief, and use the performance calculator.
In terms of the release schedule, the team has given an update on what to expect in the coming months. The initial product release is still set to happen before the end of 2023. After this, a hotfix will land in January 2024 that will fix any issues that crop up once it is in the hands of many simmers. Around the same time, they will submit the A300-600R to the Marketplace, along with an optimised version for Xbox users. A free update will follow up which will add Pratt & Whitney Engine, along with full CPDLC/ACARS simulation. This update is due in Q1 2024. Finally, the EPIC mod variant will arrive late in 2024 as a paid expansion.
With just under 2 weeks left of the year, iniBuilds will be working hard to get the forums, product page and final bits done in order to release the A300-600R by the end of the year. Once it has been made available, we will let you know. No pricing has yet to be announced by the team.
