iniBuilds has released a new open beta build for their Airbus A300 and Beluga ST for X-Plane 12. The original aircraft products released on X-Plane 11, but the new installer adds X-Plane 12 compatibility and takes advantage of some of the new functions in the simulator.
Confirmed over on the iniBuilds forums, the team has confirmed they have refined the flight mode, systems and artwork to meet some of the new standards set by X-Plane 12. Engine performance, fuel burn and the aerofoils have all been adjusted to better reflect the real-world operations of the plane on the new X-Plane 12 engine. The weight and balance system has also been adjusted in order to use the new X-Plane 12 payload system.
This is an open beta and there are some known issues to be made fully aware of. The METAR/ATIS system no longer works due to the weather changes in X-Plane 12 and that some of the lighting may look different compared to the X-Plane 11 version. There may also be other issues, but there are no timelines set in order to resolve items. You can see the list you will need to be aware of:
- Due to weather system changes in XP12, the METAR/ATIS request functions will no longer work.
- Upon first load you may receive an error prompt regarding sounds. Dismiss this, and activate the aircraft and reload the sim. The error message will no longer appear.
- Due to the significant changes in the lighting system, lights will look different to XP11.
- Please note Mac&Linux testing has not been conducted on the XP12 updates.
- More issues may be present, but this is an open beta, and there are no current timelines in place to resolve items (Please bear this in mind!).
The X-Plane 12 compatible installers are a free upgrade for customers.
A310 for X-Plane Removed from Sale
Sadly, this news seemingly comes at a cost for anyone looking to get the A310 on X-Plane. Previously released on X-Plane 11, the A310 was a big hit and well-received by the community. With the release of the new X-Plane 12 compatible installers for the A300 and the Beluga, iniBuilds has removed the A310 from sale for new customers. It should also be noted that the A310 will not get any official X-Plane 12 compatibility. We believe that all owners of the plane on X-Plane 11 can still get access to their product, just no longer available for new customers.
This means if you don’t own the A310 for X-Plane, then you will only be able to experience it on Microsoft Flight Simulator (for free) as part of the 40th Anniversary Edition.
