April is shaping up to be a very busy month for Microsoft Flight Simulator with three new dates to add to your calendar for upcoming content. This includes the long-awaited full release of Sim Update 15 (delayed a few times now), City Update 6: Southwest Germany, and Local Legend 15: Dornier Do 31.
Starting with City Update 06: Southwest Germany and Local Legend 15: Dornier Do 31, Microsoft confirmed that they will both release simultaneously on April 17th 2024. As usual, the Local Legend has been crafted by a partner developer (in this case iniBuilds). The aircraft is unique that there are only 2 airworthy ones in the world. It’s an experimental, jet-propelled, vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) cargo aircraft that was designed for military use.
As for City Update 06: Southwest Germany, expect the following cities to be improved:
- Mannheim
- Heidelberg
- Stuttgart
- Esslingen
- Kehl
- Strasbourg
Sim Update 15 and A320neo v2
Sim Update 15 and the A320v2 has been in an open beta test for a number of weeks now, with an update issued as recently as last week. The team has delayed the big update a couple of times now citing they wanted to get performance and stability right before making it a mandatory update.
With all this time in testing, the team are now setting a tentative date for a full release of Sim Update 15 and Airbus A320neo (V2) FOR April 30th 2024. This date may shift again, but this is the date as it stands right now. Of course, if you want to try out SU15 now, you can join the lighting beta test and get your hands on it right now.
Developer Livestream
The next stream with the developers will take place on April 24th at 10:30 PST (17:30 UTC) and will be your chance to ask Microsoft/Asobo your questions about the simulator. We’ll be sure to watch along and give you full coverage.
In the mean time, check out the latest development update from Microsoft on their official blog.
