iniBuilds, the well renowned developers behind popular MSFS sceneries such as London Heathrow, Los Angeles LAX and Detroit have announced New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport will be their next product, hinting at a release date as early as next week.

In an announcement on their forums, the developer stated that the new scenery product will come with highly detailed hand crafted ground textures, airport buildings and models, accurate dynamic airport lighting, bespoke taxi signage, up-to-date custom layout, custom jetways with PBR materials, a fully animated JFK AirTrain which runs between the terminals, LOD optimisations for every model ensuring good performance across a range of systems, and an accurate representation of the famous Canarsie approach.

The developer also confirmed that, as with their LAX product, the John F. Kennedy International Airport addon will receive continued product support throughout its lifetime, as the real world airport is currently undergoing construction works which when completed will change the layout of the airport. Most notable of these changes is the new Terminal 1, which is currently under construction atop the site of the old terminal 1, 2 and 3.

An accompanying trailer was also released alongside the announcement, showing off many of the features announced.

The announcement post also went into great detail covering some ‘hero pieces’ at the airport. These are areas which the developers have taken extra time and care to get *just right*. They begin with the infamous TWA Hotel. Orginally the TWA Flight Center Building, this $265 million hotel has been recreated in stunning detail within the simulator, with its intricate details in the interior including the 10,000 square foot observation deck with an infinity pool. Of course, including the Constellation aircraft in the landmark TWA colours resting in the courtyard of the hotel.

The developer goes onto comment on the over 10 custom jetway types which are present across the airport. These include the gate number atop the folding canopy, and differ between the over 130 gate types you will find around the airport.

Finally, the iniBuilds team say that they are currently wrapping up testing on the product, and expect to be able to see previews from flight sim media in the next week or so, followed by a release. This would suggest we are not far off from getting our hands on the airport at all!
