With the release of a new World Update (World Update XVI: Caribbean) belongs a new Local Legend to explore the new region in our simulator. And for the first time in a growing list of Local Legends, this is a helicopter: the Bell 47J Ranger.

The Bell 47J Ranger was an executive variant of the successful Bell 47. It’s a single pilot aircraft with the controls and seat centered in the front of the cabin. The Lexan “bubble” windscreen provides an unobstructed 180° view, and a bench seat in the rear of the cabin allows for up to four passengers. The Bell 47J Ranger was the first helicopter to carry a United States President (Dwight D. Eisenhower).

The simulator variant of the Bell 47J Ranger has been developed by iniBuilds. It features both a floats and skids variant, and each variant comes with 7 liveries included. Although a classic, the helicopter has been upgraded with modern equipment, such as a transponder and navigation box as well as a handy phone to help with basic navigation functions.

Local Legend 14: The Bell 47J Ranger is available for $14.99 from the MSFS Marketplace.
