As previously mentioned, LatinVFR has released its Airbus A330-900neo for MSFS, bringing one of the world’s most modern and fuel efficient long-haulers to the platform.
The Airbus A330-900neo “New Engine Option” is a wide-body commercial airliner developed by Airbus and represents the latest evolution in the A330 family. The aircraft had it’s first flight on the 19th October 2017, and was introduced into commercial service by TAP Air Portugal in December of the following year. The aircraft is powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 700 powerplants, producing 324kN of trust, and allowing the aircraft to cover a distance of 7,200 nautical miles in a standard configuration.
As previously announced, aircraft and scenery developer LatinVFR, known for it’s recreation of certain members of the Airbus A320 family for MSFS, has released its rendition of the Airbus A330-900neo for the platform via the MSFS In-Sim-Marketplace. LatinVFR has indicated themselves that the product is meant to appeal to both, established sim enthusiats and new comers to the platform, and that the product is trying to strike a balance between ease-of-use and incorporating real world functionalities.
As a result, while not being on par to PMDG, or Fenix Simulations, the aircraft is a step-up from alternative freeware offerings, featuring custom created systems and functionalities including for example VNAV functionality, fuel dumping systems, and automatic fuel transfers based on aircraft center of gravity and fuel system logic. The developer has also poured significant effort into the exterior and interior of the aircraft, providing a detailed exterior model with 42 high-quality liveries covering most major airlines around the globe, as well as a complete three class-configuration interior cabin model.
Worth noting is also the integration of a custom EFB into the aircraft’s cockpit allowing users to download the latest weather information, access their Navigraph charts, and consult their Simbrief flightplans for example. Finally, the aircraft also features Navigraph’s ONAS (On-Board Airport Navigation System), allowing subscribed-users to consult airport maps on the cockpit’s navigation display.
LatinVFR has assured customers that future updates won’t be long and that a conscious effort is being made to continuously improve the aircraft, with first updates relating to the LNAV and VNAV capabilities of the aircraft set to be rolled out over the coming weeks according to the developer.
If you feel like giving Airbus’ newest Airbus A330 family member a try, then feel free to pick-up LatinVFR’s recreation via the MSFS In-Sim Marketplace, with the purchase setting you back $34.99, subject to local taxes.
