As many had already guessed an F-4E Phantom is making its way to DCS World. Heatblur Simulations, who are well-known for their F-14A/B Tomcat and AJS-37 Viggen, is working on the plane together with Eagle Dynamics. The plane was briefly teased at the end of Eagle Dynamics’ ‘2022 And Beyond‘ video.
The announcement trailer on YouTube is quite cinematic and mostly shows a few close up shots of the plane, with a voice-over talking about some of its capabilities. At the end we get treated with a brief fly-by of the plane going into afterburner.
Over on the DCS forums the developer shared a brief Q&A with more information about the plane. Most importantly the post details the different F-4 Phantom variants that will eventually make their way to the sim, starting with the F-4E. The plane is scheduled for release later this year and will feature full multi-crew capabilities with JESTER-AI.
