For their upcoming release of the McDonnell Douglas F4E Phantom for DCS World, aircraft developer Heatblur Simulations has released a cinematic featurette to showcase the level of detail, systems and extras built into the three year project.
The featurette details the aircraft in fantastic detail as expected from the developer along with additional features new to the Heatblur remit such as new user interface enhancements to include in-game checklists and manual, Jester 2.0 and virtual crew chief to help you get to grips with the ‘most high fidelity aircraft yet‘. The development of the F4E Phantom has utilised the best in virtual aircraft development which allows for the most immersive experience yet.
The video showcases the level of detail that thousands of components in the aircraft have been developed to. For example, within the altimeter, the needle and positional notation counter drums are all modelled separately allowing for each to fail and model stresses independently.
Finally, Heatblur comments that the aircraft will be available to fly with full multiplayer compatibility with either a Weapons Officer or ‘guy in back’ from day one.
The featurette is the first of many videos coming from Heatblur Simulations to showcase the aircraft features and technologies in the run up to the early access release.
