MSFS aircraft and scenery developer FlightSim Studio AG, known for their rendition of the Embraer 170/175, has revealed their latest project: the Tecnam P2012 “Traveller” for MSFS.
The Tecnam P2012 “Traveller” is a piston-engine multi-purpose utility aircraft, developed and manufactured by Italian aircraft manufacturer Construzioni Aeronautiche Tecnam in Naples, Italy. Configurable for up to 11 passengers, the aircraft had its inaugural flight on July 21, 2016. Designed for short-haul routes, it presented airlines with a cost-effective solution, exemplified by its launch customer, U.S. regional carrier Cape Air, which ordered over 100 units. With a range of over 900 nautical miles and the ability to operate with a single crew member, the “Traveller” proved ideal for Cape Air’s short-haul routes in the American Northeast and the Caribbean.
FlightSim Studio AG has partnered with real-world operator Alpen Air to create an authentic MSFS representation of the Tecnam P2012 “Traveller.” The aircraft will feature a highly detailed exterior 3D model, custom engine modeling for its dual Lycoming TEO540C1A 6-cylinder engines, and a customized G1000 navigation suite. It will be available in five different configurations: airline, combi, medevac, cargo, and skydive versions, each complemented by immersive sound effects obtained from extensive real-life recording sessions. The product will be XBOX compatible and integrated into FlightSim Studio’s mission hub, allowing users to experience real-world operations.
While pricing details remain undisclosed, the aircraft is slated for release by the end of 2023. Initially, it will be available on Aerosoft and FlightSim Studio online stores, with plans for a broader release via the Microsoft online store at a later date.
