After a slight delay (due to the film’s delay), the Dune DLC for Microsoft Flight Simulator is now available to get from the in-sim Marketplace.
Working with Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures, the team has created the planet Arrakis from the Dune series and given you the ability to fly around the alien world in The Royal Atreides Ornithopter. This is a special, ultra-performance variant of the craft that is propelled by four tuned oscillating wings. You can fly fast, move with precision and accelerate at rapid rates, giving you a really cool way to explore this new world.
You can take flight in the Royal Atredies Ornithopter and start learning the aircraft type through its three tutorial missions: take-off, landing, and freefall. Once you have got those skills, you can move on to the pack six activities. This includes time trials and a rescue mission which sees you taking on massive sandstorms.
Win a Custom Xbox and Floating Controller
To celebrate the release of the new DLC, Microsoft and Xbox are giving away a custom Xbox Series S that captures Arrakis’s sun, planets, and sand. You can also win the world’s first floating controller, which is themed around the Dune series.
