Dreamflight Studios continues to expand its California airport scenery portfolio with the release of Palo Alto Airport (KPAO) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Located in Northern California, PAO is a towered field that features a single, 2,443 x 70 feet (745 x 21 m) runway, nestled among some of the most congested airspace in the United States. In spite of this, PAO is one of the busiest general aviation airports in the San Francisco Bay Area with an average of 155,803 operations per year for the last ten years.
Palo Alto Airport is unique because of its location surrounded by multiple airports and airspace classes in close proximity. Overlaying the airport is SFO Class Bravo airspace as well as Oakland and San Jose Class Charlie airspace. In addition, Moffett Federal Airfield lies just 4nm southeast of PAO. As a result, Palo Alto Airport’s airspace ends only 1.5 nautical miles southeast of runway 13, meaning westbound departures must circle over the Bay before proceeding on course.
DreamFlight Studios version of PAO features high-resolution, PBR-textured models as well as an accurate representation of the current airport layout including runway 13/31, taxiways, aircraft parking areas, and general aviation facilities.
Palo Alto Airport is available via the Contrail Shop or simMarket and retails for € 9.95 (excl VAT) | $10.64 | £8.60.
