Developer Aerosoft has provided simmers an update on their long-awaited A330 for Microsoft Flight Simulator and the possibility of releasing on different simulators.
The main takeaway from the update, according to the post, was the team stating ‘there will be an FS2020 version of the A330 variants and a free update to FS2024’.
However despite stating this, the team say that although they recently announced the A330 will be releasing on the upcoming Flight Simulator 2024, there is now a possibility the A330 will be available on Microsoft Flight Simulator FS2020.
The post says ‘As soon as we have a first beta version of the new simulator in our hands, we will test it extensively. Depending on the results, it is even conceivable to release an A330 version for FS2020 with
a free update to FS2024 in advance.’
A number of graphics depicted the progress on certain aspects of the project, including the 3D model, EFB, autopilot and others.
One of the biggest snags the team say they encountered was that MSFS native features were incompatible with the code base the team had used in previous projects, meaning systems had to be rebuild or in some instances developed from scratch which ‘took up more and more unplanned time.’
