The team at FlyByWire Simulations continues to crank out improvements for their freeware A32NX. This newest update includes a brand-new custom performance calculator for take-off.
Within their flyPad (onboard EFB), you will now be able to use the ‘Performance’ tab to calculate the takeoff and landing performance. You can add information such as airport, runway data, aircraft weights and configuration, and more in order to get accurate speeds and engine flex for the A320neo.
The calculations considers runway length, ground minimum control speeds, maximum brake energy speed and maximum tyre speed in order to give you an accurate reading. At this time, takeoff obstacle clearance is not currently modelled.
You can fill in data from the OFP and the latest METAR data to prevent you from having to type out a bunch of different things. Once calculated, you can input this information into the MCDU. It’s worth noting that with this function, it means the VSpeeds auto input via the LSK will be disabled shortly in the Dev version of the A32NX.
You can get the newly added Take Off Performance Calculator via the Dev version of the aircraft. The Dev build also recently received the new FMSv2 – the FlyByWire Simulations team is certainly very busy right now.
Be sure also to check out 45 minutes of footage for their upcoming A380 for MSFS.
