VIRPL has released their newest product, the ACE-Torq Rudder Pedals. Over on the VIRPL Forums, images and a YouTube Video were posted showcasing the ACE-Torq Rudder Pedals in action.
The rudder pedals are designed based on single axis, vertical pedal movement. This design was first introduced in the Bell 30 and Bell 47, it has been featured in countless aircraft since. For the home pilot, this design prevents your feet from slipping and office chairs with casters being pushed back. From Space-sims, to combat, helicopter, and even GA flying, the ACE-Torq ruder pedals allow for a great user experience!
Constructed out of metal, the ACE-Torq Rudder Pedals come with an adjustable cam centering and spring loaded mechanism giving pilots not only a premium feel but the durability VIRPL is known for. Hard-center and no-center cams are included. The spring can also be adjusted with the pretensioner bolt, this allows granular, on-the-fly adjustments. A hex key is included for adjusting the clutch and altering the pedals response based on the aircraft you are flying at the time. With the use of high precision contactless digital sensors, the ACE-Torq Rudder Pedals can sense an input accuracy of 0.0006 degrees.
VIRPL allows the mechanism itself to be adjusted along with the position of the pedals and heel plates. The pedal’s horizontal position can be adjusted independently allowing the pedal and heel plates to suit a wide range of foot sizes. A USB / OUT connection is included giving the user the ability to daisy chain the pedals to select VPC devices. This design helps to minimize the amount of USB ports used.
