Scenery developer, TropicalSim, has made its way to the South American country of Paraguay with their latest release, Silvio Pettirossi International Airport (SGAS). SGAS is the main international airport serving Paraguay’s capital, Asunción, and is located 10.5 miles (17 kilometers) northeast of the city centre. In 2023, the airport handled over 1.0 million passenger movements making it the busiest airport in the country.
SGAS serves as a hub for LATAM Paraguay and Paranair with the airlines providing service throughout destinations in South America from Asunción. Regular passenger flights are also operated by Aerolíneas Argentinas, Air Europa, Avianca, Boliviana de Aviación, Copa Airlines, Gol, JetSmart Argentina, and cargo flights to the airport are operated by Avianca and LATAM. The airport also shares facilities with the Ñu-Guazú Air Force Base of the Paraguayan Air Force.
TropicalSim’s version of SGAS features interior modeling of the passenger terminal and ATC control tower. Details extend beyond the passenger terminal to private aviation facilities and fixed base operator hangars, as well as military facilities.
