TFDi’s highly anticipated McDonnel Douglass MD-11 for Microsoft Flight Simulator has gone up for pre-sale on the company’s website.
The product is being listed for $80USD, although for customers attending FSExpo this weekend there is a 15% discount available when you visit the team’s booth on the show floor.

TFDi are promising a highly detailed rendition of the plane which will include a fully modelled cockpit with circuit breakers, complete autopilot functionality, fully modelled systems including the FMS, pneumatics, hydraulics, fuelling and electronics, and a fully modelled passenger cabin.
In addition the team are offering several customisation options for the plane. When I spoke to the team at their booth here at expo, they mentioned one such example as the engine indicators. Typically on an MD11 these are depicted as circles on the ECAM, a bit like you would see on an Airbus. However when KLM operated the MD-11, these circles were replaced by lines (as seen in the images below).

The team are also offering an ‘Extended Simulation Package’ which will include simulated failures. Simmers will have to contend with things going wrong and break out their emergency procedures checklists for an immersive experience bringing the aircraft down safely.
Right now you can pre-order the TFDi MD-11 for $80USD at the company’s website. This offering includes both the passenger and cargo versions of the plane.
