After some brief delays, TFDi Design has finally released their highly anticipated MD-11 to those who purchased the Collector’s Edition license. This is an exciting step in the project’s development as the aircraft inches closer to full release.
Now that the 1,000 Collector’s Edition customers have access to the MD-11, they will spend the next 60 days rigorously testing the aircraft for any bugs or performance issues. This 60-day exclusivity period is scheduled to end on January 7, 2024, and barring any necessary fixes, the MD-11 will be released to the public after that point.

TFDi Design also explained in their Discord server that pre-sale customers will have the ability to download the MD-11 a couple of days before the public release, but they will be unable to fly the aircraft. Once the pre-sale downloads commence, TFDi Design will pull the option from their website for purchase. The team also stated that their goal is to release the Extended Simulation package in mid-Q2 2024, allowing their team to build upon the collector’s and general public releases.
Overall, this is a very exciting moment for the flight simulator community as we are within striking distance of having a study-level MD-11 available for MSFS and P3D. To stay up-to-date with TFDi Design’s progress, be sure to visit their MD-11 development website. At the time of writing, the team is approximately 75% of the way to having the feature-complete aircraft ready, which is expected to be 100% completed by the end of this year.
