Developer SoFly has released its newest product for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Animals for MSFS is a new add-on that brings a load of animals to the simulator. Animals for MSFS was first shown at FlightSimExpo 2023.
The product itself adds 15 new species of animals to the simulator, including lions, a variety of whale types, sheep, cows, gorillas, chimpanzees, and more. SoFly says they have placed over 5000 animals across the world in over 280 locations.
Each of the new animals has been designed with quality 3D models and authentic textures that have been optimized for performance. Each creature also comes with a range of sound effects that are randomly played when you get closer to their habits. Animals move across the world in a number of ways, or they simply are hanging out waiting for you to find them. You can use the in-sim fauna POI markers to find them (world map or in-sim) or you can find them on your own accord.
SoFly has included 5 missions to give you educational information about each of the creatures as you overfly them. These are done with fully voiced discovery flights. Finally, SoFly has enhanced some of Parallel 42’s Scene products by adding some of the animals to these airports.
You can buy Animals for MSFS from SoFly for £11.99 (excluding taxes) and Orbx for $22.95 AUD. SoFly has said that further updates are in development which adds additional animals and even more global locations over time. An Xbox version is coming soon to the Marketplace.
