Munich Airport for MSFS, a collaboration between Simwings and Aerosoft, is the latest of an increasing number of airports released early on in the lifespan of MSFS to benefit from a ‘V2’ update.
In a trailer posted on the AviationLads YouTube channel, we can see that the airport has received some updates to the terminal interiors, as well as a new working VDGS system, an Audi e-tron dealership, and upgrades to the Lufthansa maintenance facilities. However, the standout feature has to be the extension to terminal one, which has been under construction for the last few years.
The terminal one expansion is still under construction at the real-world Munich Airport, and this is reflected in Aerosoft/Simwings’ scenery where it is depicted behind construction fencing and will thus be inaccessible to the player. Work is expected to complete on the extension by 2025 with the commissioning of the new area scheduled currently for the end of the same year.

Beyond that, it doesn’t appear that much has changed. That isn’t to the detriment of Aerosoft and Simwings however; their Munich Airport addon still holds up very well to more recent international airport scenery despite its age.
The V2 update for Munich Airport is expected to land some time later this week. It is not yet clear whether it will be free for existing customers (similarly to how iniBuilds added free updates to their Heathrow Airport), or charge for the update, potentially with a discount for existing customers (like what MK-Studios did with their Dublin V2).
FSElite will update you when the update is available.
