A new forum post by Robert from PMDG has been made where he spoke about the PMDG Universal Flight Tablet, the 777, and some pending 737 updates.
To sum up the lengthy post, Robert said that the team has now settled on a release date for the Universal Flight Tablet. “During our weekly meeting, a release date was set and we have begun the process of preparing the update cycle that will make the tablet live for you in the 737 series,” he said in the post. However, he stopped shy of actually sharing a release date. Previews for the tablet will be coming soon, he said. PMDG says that the next update for the 737 will carry the tablet
As for the 777, sadly members of the development team were unwell or dealing with personal matters, which slowed things down a little bit. Rob seems to be chuffed with the plane, saying “the handling characteristics and feel of flying the 777 is unmatched by any other airliner- and we have that replicated to perfection in the MSFS environment.” They aimed to have the 777 in beta testing by the end of September, but that has slipped. Regardless, it appears as though the long-haul airliner will be with us sooner than later.
A new DC-6 update is also in the works that is to address issues with gyropilot tracking. PMDG has worked with Working Title to track down this issue.
We’ll keep you updated with any new information from PMDG HQ.
