Whilst we already know that Origami Studios is working on a completely revamped version of Gatwick Airport (EGKK) for Microsoft Flight Simulator, the team is also hard at work on bringing an updated version to X-Plane 12.
Over on Facebook, the team shared a range of new previews of the project in its current state. From what we can see, there are plenty of improvements to the scenery that is also taking full advantage of the power of X-Plane 12’s new feature set.
In the previews, Origami Studios has said that they are using an “unreleased XP12 Fog Lighting feature” to create some of the effects seen. Furthermore, specific ‘weather maps’ have also been used to change the ground in certain weather conditions, i.e. snow.

Finally, Origami Studios confirmed that the X-Plane 12 update will be free for existing customers.
