IniBuilds released the original A300 over 2 years ago for X-Plane 11 and it has seen various large-scale improvements since. However, when the news broke that iniBuilds would be producing aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator, as part of the upcoming 40th anniversary update, many were curious about whether the developer had moved on from X-Plane.
After a little while of waiting for solid confirmation, the team took to the forums to confirm that they plan on still supporting X-Plane content moving forward. Specifically, it has been confirmed that the A300 ON THE LINE will be getting a free update in the future that will make it fully X-Plane 12 compatible. Those who own the X-Plane 11 version will get this update free of charge when it releases in 2023.
According to the forum post, the update will focus primarily on X-Plane 12 functionality, rather than adding any new features. This may change as the update is not planned until 2023.
Those hoping to see the A310 made compatible for X-Plane 12 will be saddened to hear that at this stage, only the A300 is currently planned to be updated.
Ubaid said on the forums, “I hope this addresses some of the concerns customers had regarding the future of this product. While we are still hesitant of the future of XP12 for us as an organization, we hope this news brings some clarity for our XP11 customers who are still using this simulator.“
With the 40th Anniversary Edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator including a number of iniBuilds developed items and also their presence at FSWeekend, this is a big few weeks for the whole of the development team.
