Scenery developer Fly 2 High has again partnered with iniBuilds to deliver another high-quality airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This time, the focus is on Corpus Christi International Airport (KCRP), a regional, public-use airport in Texas, USA. Nestled in what many call the “Texas Riviera”, the area surrounding Corpus Christi is popular among holidaymakers year-round thanks to its mild subtropical climate, natural beauty, and ease of access to the Gulf of Mexico, nearby beaches, and the Texas barrier islands.
Corpus Christi International Airport is located 6 miles (9.65km) west of Corpus Christi, a city with a population of over 300,000 residents. KCRP has two asphalt runways: 13/31 and 18/36. In 2017, the airport had 97,012 aircraft operations, an average of 266 per day. Airline service is provided by American Eagle, Southwest, Sun Country, and United Express, and the main terminal at KCRP has five gates, two of which have direct access to the U.S. Customs office for accommodating international arrivals. The airport is also home to a United States National Weather Service field office, a United States Coast Guard Air Station, cargo facilities, and a general aviation fixed-based operator (FBO).
KCRP Key Features:
- Accurate simulation of the nearest Corpus Christi International Airport
- Hand-made ground textures (Runways, aprons, paths, roads)
- Accurately modeled and positioned dynamic airport lighting
- Highly detailed models of all airport buildings, objects, and surroundings
- Good optimization of FPS
Fly 2 High’s rendition of Corpus Christi is available from the iniBuild’s store for £7.49 GBP (€8.73 EUR | $9.43 USD)
