A new 20-minute video on the Digital Flight Dynamics A350 for Microsoft Flight Simulator has been shared by the team.
Throughout the video, we were given new looks at the avionics (flight planning, checklists, airport database, and CPDLC), along with a look at the systems, and texturing & modelling progress.
In the newest episode of the Discover350 series by the team, a lot of time was spent on the avionics system, specifically the multifunction display (MFD). DFD have integrated flight planning functionalities using the FlyByWire Simulations FMS v2 and shown that users can create their plans from scratch. A checklist system is also implemented, along with advanced CPDLC functionality – all of which you can see being demoed.
The next part of the video highlighted the team’s efforts on texturing and modelling. We saw the sidestick, unique seat design, and also details on the throttles. It’s all done with an effort to make look as realistic as possible, all whilst being performance-friendly.
Finally, DFD shared some more insight into the flight dynamics and how fuel flow is impacted by various elements, including the handling of the fuel pumps themselves.
The team continues to develop the project with an open source approach and concludes the video looking for new people to contribute to the development of the A350 for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
That’s all for now, but you can watch the full video above.
