The long-awaited Yawman Arrow finally has a release date and price. The new gamepad controller, that is specifically designed for flight simulators, will be released on January 8th 2024, launching initially in the USA first.
Fusing a traditional handheld controller and flight simulation controls, the team has produced a new type of hardware that fits in the palm of your hand and gives simmers a more compact way of interacting with their favourite flight sim. The Yawman Arrow has patent-pending technology that allows you to have precise control over rudder movement even in the toughest of weather conditions.
“It’s time to fly,” said Thomas Nield, Yawman co-founder and inventor of the Arrow. “It’s been an incredible journey since we unveiled the Arrow in January and it’s taken meticulous planning to reach this point. We are ready to deliver the Arrow and an entirely new virtual aviation experience for the flight simulation community.”
The Yawman Arrow is a first-of-its-kind controller that has been designed by simmers for simmers. It will give you a full range of controls that would be needed to pilot a number of aircraft types. There is an integrated trim wheel, two shoulder bumper buttons, a five-button D-pad, a five-way hat switch for independent drone viewing angles and video recording, and a multifunction six pack of programmable buttons. In addition to precision controls in pitch, roll and yaw, the Arrow includes four more fully-programmable sliders, including two vernier-style engine controls like those found on some small piston-powered aircraft. All of these buttons can be then configured in the sim for any purpose required.
The controller itself requires a single USB and will be compatible with a number of simulators, including Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, Prepar3D, and even mobile simulators such as Infinite Flight on Android.
The Yawman Arrow will be available to order on January 8th at 11am ET (no pre-orders) with shipping commencing immediately. It will be priced at $249 USD and initially only available for USA customers. The team are awaiting on approval for the EU and rest of the world and once regulatory approval has been received, will open up orders to new territories. You can stay updated with the latest news on orders and shipping over on Yawman’s official website.
