TFDi Design’s Spring Development Update Shares New PACX and MD-11 Details

TFDi Design shared a ‘Spring Development Update’ over the past few days which gave us a bit of insight into how things are progressing for the development team on a number of projects. In particular, the focus was given to the popular PACX and also the much-awaited MD-11.

Starting with PACX, the team released a meaningful update over the past few days to customers. This new update added a few new features that will come in handy when trying to keep you and your virtual passengers entertained during the flight. Before each flight, you now have a visual representation of the passengers onboard. Alongside this, a new inflight entertainment section has been added. The new section allows you as the pilot to stay informed with the latest news (directly supplied by us) and also the ability to sit back and listen to JetStream Radio.

The MD-11

The MD-11 by TFDi Design for Prepar3D and Microsoft Flight Simulator continues to make progress. TFDi Design said that “while we still do not have an official timeline for release and testing, just know that we are progressing at rates never even imagined during the production of the TFDi Design 717.”

Modelling and texturing continue with some new previews shared by the team. In addition, modelling has begun on both the cargo and the P&W engine variations of the plane.

In terms of the systems and autopilot, the team has been working hard to ensure it is realistic and functional within the simulator. Progress on these fronts continues to go well, but the team has hired a new programmer to help assist in making sure the pace picks up to get the plane in simmers’ hands as fast as possible.

SmartCARS 3

SmartCARS 3 also continues to improve. In particular, virtual airlines will be able to tap into the API system to have even improved functionality for calling particular results.

“Our all-new API will provide virtual airline owners and developers a phenomenal base for their unique modules to allow each VA to have unique modules to support the individual needs of their organization. smartCARS 3, as has been discussed previously, will be a completely new system compared to earlier versions of smartCARS, bringing with it an entirely new level of functionality for everyone.”
