Scenery developer Project Max have released their next project for MSFS, this time focusing their efforts on Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport (WAAA) in South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Located in Makassar, in the southern part of the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport (WAAA) is an international airport serving the region and named after Sultan Hasanuddin, a former Sultan of Gowa who played a major role in the local populations fight against the Dutch East India Company in the 1660’s. The airport was formerly called Kadieng Airport and was originally opened in 1937 with the first flight undertaken by a Dutch KNILM Douglas DC-2 aircraft to Surabaya.
Today the airport serves as a major distribution hub for passengers travelling on to different destinations across the island of Sulawesi and the wider region. In addition, the airport sees numerous international carriers arrive and depart to various destinations across the Asia Pacific and Middle East region. Some of the more exotic destinations served from the airport include Saudia’s routes to Jeddah and Medina, Scoot’s route to Singapore Changi, and Flynas’s route to Jeddah.
Scenery developer Project Max has released its rendition of this important Indonesian aviation hub for MSFS users to discover. Though not specifying a formal product feature list, the developer’s rendition of the airport does seem to provide a satisfying level of detail, especially at the specified price point. Judging by the screenshots, the scenery features a detailed ground layout of the airport with custom ground markings, custom created terminal buildings, as well as a some ground clutter such as passenger stairs, and static military aircraft. The scenery also comes included with custom-created ground polygons based on late 2023 datapoints.
Project Max’s rendition of Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport (WAAA) is available for purchase from the simMarket product page and will cost you $8.16 excl. VAT.
