We first reported on Passenger2 back in July when details about the addon for Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, Prepar3d, and FSX were sparse. Now, with the addon’s release, we’re getting a much clearer picture of the application that adds passenger, crew, and company operational realism to your simulator.
Passenger2’s standalone interface interacts with the simulator to allow users to create, manage, and grow their own airline, purchase and sell aircraft, manage ground handling contracts, sign catering contracts, and more. Passenger2 also features realistic crew interaction, announcements, and events. Five airline sound packs are included with several more in development.
Users can choose between a career mode or a “just fly” mode. In Career mode, users will create and manage their own airline. Career mode allows the user to specify a name and a logo for their airline, manage HR aspects such as pay and revenue, contract with service providers, and purchase a fleet of aircraft. Conversely, “just fly” mode allows users to jump right into a flight on any aircraft without limits or restrictions. A flight report with an associated revenue summary is used to keep track of the financials of each flight.
The Passenger2 interface can be used to display live flight parameters as well as a passenger satisfaction score post-flight. Buttons for announcements, cabin service, and emergencies are included. A live cabin view lets users watch their virtual passengers and monitor crew tasks as they happen. Note that the addon does require the free version of FSUPIC (or XPUIPC for X-Plane) to connect and sync data with the simulator.
You can purchase Passenger2 directly from the developer’s website, www.passenger2.com, for $31.99 USD.
