Just weeks after FSWeekend has wrapped up, developer Papa Hotel has released their scenery for the airport where the event is hosted at. Lelystad Airport (EHLE) is the biggest general aviation airport in the Netherlands, located centrally in the country. The airport also has a fully completed terminal building, capable of handling some 25.000 flights per year, but the opening of the airport is a contentious topic in Dutch politics, and despite the airport being finished several years ago in 2018, it seems increasingly unlikely that the airport will open to commercial aviation at all.
That doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the airport in our simulators though, through Papa Hotel’s detailed and accurate rendition. It features detailed textures and 30cm/pixel ortho imagery. The main terminal building as well as the air traffic control tower feature a detailed interior.
The Aviodrome museum, host to FSWeekend, has also been fully included into the scenery, with a detailed digital representation of the museum. Also included are many custom, static aircraft that are on exhibit at the museum, including the iconic KLM 747 that’s open to the public.
Papa Hotel’s Lelystad Airport is available for €14,95 through Contrail.
