Orbx Announces British Isles Mesh for MSFS

Orbx has today announced a new product coming soon to Microsoft Flight Simulator. British Isles Mesh for Microsoft Flight Simulator is a terrain-enhancing product that comes off the heels of similar products that covered Iceland, the Himalayas and Alaska. The packs are designed to use the latest data sets to improve the default scenery found in the simulator.

Orbx says that this package will cover a vast area in and around Britain itself. It will cover all of Great Britain, Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Northern Isles and around 6,000 smaller islands around the North Atlantic. High-resolution data has been used to fill the gaps in the existing scenery, correct terrain spikes and improve the level of detail interpolation in Scotland and other areas.

It has been developed Dymtro Krykunov. He says that Ireland in particular has a focus on improving the accuracy of the terrain. Using a new mesh from ALOS satellite DEMO data, the scenery is much more realistic. Over 200 locations are now added with 2m/pix resolution.

Orbx has not clarified when British Isles Mesh for MSFS will be released, but we will keep our eyes peeled for any new details. For now enjoy the previews shared by Orbx.
