The Miltech Simulations team shared more images and details of their upcoming CH47D Chinook for Microsoft Flight Simulator. If you haven’t already seen their update from a month ago, check out this FSElite article which includes additional images and features.
In this round of updates, Miltech Simulations announced that the CH47D Chinook is nearly complete and already in a flyable state. They also announced that the final product will include 16 liveries including the US Army, RCAF, RAF, Spanish Army, RAAF, JGSDF, NASA, firefighting versions, and more. Additionally, there will be various load configurations with the cargo bay occupied by a Humvee, troops, special ops, etc. Included is the option to sling water, cargo pallets, Humvees, UAV containers, or RHIBs. This is sure to excite military and firefighting fans as the versatility will allow users to reenact a variety of scenarios.
Speaking of which, the product will include around 20 different missions from military operations to firefighting and earthquake relief, and a variety of other scenarios. The last bits of the post include an update on autopilot integration – which Miltech Simulations states is difficult to implement as MSFS doesn’t support autopilot on helicopters. The developers are still unsure to what extent the AFCS System will be implemented, which could vary between having only HDG+Alt or a full 4-DOF system.
