Miltech Simulations has released its long-awaited CH47D for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The product is a replication of Boeing’s CH-47 Chinook, giving simmers the chance to fly this unique military helicopter.
The CH47D is a tandem-roto, heavy-lift helicopter created to perform tasks such as troop and cargo transport. With its twin engines and counter-rotating rotors, it boasts impressive lifting capability for both internal and underslung loads. Engineered with resilience and equipped with advanced systems, this helicopter can operate effectively in challenging conditions, guaranteeing the achievement of vital mission objectives.
The product comes with realistic animations, various effects and a tailored flight model that has been validated through testing by a real-world CH47 pilot. The flight model is designed with the in-sim native helicopter model and will be migrated to support native tandem support after Sim Update 15 is released.
A comprehensive sound pack is also included that depicts the sound of the real thing. Included is accurate APU sounds, FWD transmission, whine and ramp sounds and also the hydraulics. Further to this is a number of cargo loading capabilities (including onboard tablet), realistic navigation systems and a mission system with a series of predefined flights with tasks to take on.
Not only will you find the helicopter included with the package, but a number of included scenery items too, including RAD Odiham, Bryant Airfield, Camp Resilience and Al Sahra Base.
It’s available now for Microsoft Flight Simulator for $35.99 via their store. It will be brought to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 free of charge in the future.

- 5 Internal Cargo Loads to choose from, including Medvacs, Troops, Humvee and Pallets.
- Electronic Flight Bag: A Tablet EFB is included to interact with the aircraft systems – From Fueling to External Loads.
