Just Flight recently released another international airport, adding to their massive library of airport and airfield scenery. Of the two international airports on the island of Tenerife in Spain, Tenerife North (Ciudad de La Laguna Airport) is smaller by a considerable margin. Nonetheless, the airport is a popular hub for tourists and has quite the history behind it.
Tenerife North Airport (GCXO) was built in the 1930s to accommodate aircraft flying between the Spanish mainland and the Canary Islands. Since then it has developed rapidly and today it serves 3-5 million passengers per year. Tenerife North is also known for the tragic collision between two Boeing 747s in 1977; the deadliest accident in aviation history.
