Interview: iniBuilds on Latest Development Announcements

iniBuilds finished 2023 with a slew of releases, announcements and teases for what their future holds. The biggest announcement was the fact that they are developing an Airbus A350 for Microsoft Flight Simulator, and also pleased the community with the release of the long-awaited A300-600R Airliner. 2024 looks to be just as exciting for the iniBuilds team so we spoke to them briefly just before the year closed.

FSElite: Huge announcements this week from you! A380 is back, A350 is brand new and the A300 is going to be out soon. You have a lot of love for Airbus. What has it been like going from a more old school Airbus to more modern Airbuses? And why are you confident you can deliver on the more modern aircraft when we have never seen a true A380/A350 release yet for a flight simulator?

iniBuilds: Thank you! It’s truly been a crazy end to the year. The team has a wide range of experience on working on many different types of projects; and this is also true when it comes to aircraft. Our team is made up of numerous individuals from various industry backgrounds and the culmination of the empirical experiences they have, coupled with their technical insight is what provides us the confidence to be able to deliver on these projects to a highly enjoyable standard! There are added complexities with more modern Airbus aircraft, but nothing we don’t feel we can’t achieve at this stage.

FSElite: Moving onto airports. Dubai. For the longest time you have said “Nope, another developer is working on it.” Why did you tease and then deny it so often? I know also some of your team are based out there so they must be happy to see it come to life?

This is true, and we just want to add for the record there was nothing malicious behind it! We have a very relaxed atmosphere in our Discord, and were having a bit of fun with our community. Some folks saw some shared conversations out of context relating to another situation, and here we are! We did tease it quite a bit to play on this, especially with the freeware OMDU SkyDive Dubai POI pack. It was a very engaging pre-release week for our social and community team! Not something we will be doing often though 😊. For the team that lives out there, it was truly a joy to see their home airport being recreated in Microsoft Flight Simulator!

FSElite: Building these large airports at scale must be quite taxing on you as a team. How do you stay motivated to continue?

It can be, but we always work on some smaller fields to break up the work required on large airports. We are lucky to have a truly dedicated team who are passionate for creating immersive experiences, and we hope that passion comes across in our content.

FSElite: 2024 is going to be a big year of releases by the looks of it. What do you see 2024 looking like for you?

iniBuilds: One word – crazy! It will be a fantastic year for the whole community, and we can’t wait to deliver more of our content to the community, creating fantastic experiences.

FSElite: As the year closes, anything you wish to add?

iniBuilds: To round off, we just wanted to say a big thanks to you and your team for all the support to iniBuilds, and a big thank you to the community for their continued support!
