Over on the MSFS forums developer DigitalJonx of the Got Friends development team has shared a new development update alongside more previews of their upcoming F4F Wildcat. Just a few days we reported on some other F4F previews, featuring the aircraft’s “crash capabilities”. This time the developer wants to draw a little more attention to some of the other features the plane will come with.
Starting off the post, the F4F Wildcat will feature a manual and automated mode of the landing gear and the cowl flaps. This old bird lacks many of the modern features we see in our planes today, or even back when this plane was introduced. In order to lower the landing gear, pilots had to manually operate the crank in order to raise or lower the gear. Those looking for an authentic experience might be happy to see this manual operation will also be available on Got Friends Wildcat. An automated mode will also exist, allowing you to operate the gear in a more modern way.
The team has included several animations so far to the Wildcat. As seen on the previews last week, the aircraft will include prop-strike physics that will bend the propeller blades. The Wildcat also features bone animated elements, like the yoke, rudder and chain animations. Additionally, the aircraft includes a collimated gun sight.
According to DigitalJonx, more work definitely remains to be done on the aircraft, despite the seemingly far-progressed state of the previews. We will share more updates with you as Got Friends shares more of their F4F Wildcat.
