At long last, FlyTampa has released Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport (EHAM) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The European hub has been long-awaited by the developers and so it is great to finally have the rendition of the major airport represented in the simulator.
Schiphol Airport is just a few miles away from the major city of Amsterdam in The Netherlands and serves as a huge hub for many European carriers. Most notable, of course, is the country’s flag carrier, KLM. KLM serves the globe from Amsterdam, with routes across Europe, Asia, the US and beyond in a number of aircraft types. Furthermore, the airport also serves as a base for airlines such as easyJet, Ryanair, Transavia, and other European carriers.
The airport itself has six different runways, despite having only a single terminal (separated by various departure areas). With over 500,000 aircraft movements a year, it makes Schiphol Airport one of the busiest in the world.
A GSX Profile is also available from their forums.
FlyTampa has recreated the airport in a rich level of detail, taking advantage of the latest technology. This includes fully 3D terminals, interior modelling and use of dynamic lighting. There is also plenty of ground clutter across the airport. It’s good to note that the airport layout for the MSFS version is based on the 2023 layout.
You can buy it now from the FlyTampa website for $21.99. It is also coming to SIMMARKET and also Orbx’s stores very soon, plus the in-sim Marketplace.
