FlyTampa’s Amsterdam for MSFS is Coming Soon

FlyTampa have posted a new image on their Facebook page showing work on their long-awaited Amsterdam Schipol (EHAM) scenery for MSFS, confirming that it is “coming soon”.

The veteran scenery developer has been working on the product for at least 18 months, with their version of the KLM hub being released for X-Plane 11 and 12 last December. A P3D version of the scenery has also been available for a while and is highly regarded among the flight sim community, especially following its V2 update in November 2021.

Elsewhere, FlyTampa are also working on a rendition of Montreal Airport (CYUL) for Microsoft Flight Simulator, although no new previews have been shown on this project.

Amsterdam Schipol Airport is the busiest airport in Europe by total aircraft movements, comprising of six runways. It also serves as the hub of Dutch flag carrier KLM, and their subsidiaries KLM Cargo, KLM Cityhopper, as well as Martinair. The international airport is also a focus city for low cost carriers EasyJet, TUI and Transavia.

Among the many unique features of the airport is the fact that taxiway V is intersected by one of the Netherlands’ famous canals. It appears that this is where the camera is placed in the screenshot released by FlyTampa, facing south-east towards the terminals and control tower.

Although FlyTampa say that the scenery is “coming soon”, they also said it was “very close” in response to a comment on their Facebook page over a year ago. Therefore, simmers might want to take this announcement with a pinch of salt before jumping to conclusions about an imminent release.

FSElite will bring you more news on this exciting scenery as soon as we get it!
