A new development update for Black Square’s Piston and Turbine Duke for Microsoft Flight Simulator has been shared.
One of the standout additions is the implementation of engine preheating, a feature prompted by user requests. This addition goes beyond mere visual representation, affecting various aspects of aircraft operation such as instrument needle behavior, electric motors, and gyroscopes, adding depth and realism to the flying experience.
Furthermore, users can expect a range of customization options with additional panel choices to complement different upholstery packages from various decades. Liveries crafted by beta testers will also be available following the release.
In terms of functionality, autopilot control for the KNS-81 RNAV Navigator will be introduced, catering to enthusiasts who fondly recall the early days of GPS navigation. Additionally, improvements to the turbine engine simulation, including the incorporation of PT6A’s P2.5 bleed valves, promise a more immersive experience with over 250 possible engine failure modes.
Scheduled for release in the first half of April 2024, both the Piston Duke and Turbine Duke variants will be available for purchase separately or as part of a discounted bundle. Just Flight plans to update product pages with new screenshots and manuals, accompanied by instructional videos on their YouTube channel to demonstrate the features of the Black Square Dukes aircraft.
We will be sure to keep you updated on progress, along with news on the upcoming YouTube videos and product pages. You can read more about the Dukes in our past posts.
